About Mary
Hi, I’m Mary.
I’m interested in what people notice about themselves—and what gets harder to hear when life feels overwhelming.
Clients often arrive with a great deal of insight. They’ve thought carefully about their history and their relationships. I want to understand what they already know, and stay curious about what is happening beneath their reactions.
My style is warm, collaborative, and deeply person-centered. We can slow down, notice what’s happening, and leave room for your own way of making sense of it.
Experience & training
A relational lens.
A mind-body background.
I’m a graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Winthrop University. I provide graduate-level counseling through Everyday Wellness SC under clinical supervision.
I have more than eleven years of experience working with people around emotional patterns, relationships, anxiety, overwhelm, and self-understanding. My background includes traditional naturopathy and holistic mind-body work.
Parts work and Internal Family Systems-informed approaches, somatic awareness, compassionate inquiry, mindfulness-based approaches, and relational work all inform how I listen. I pay attention to the person in front of me and what feels useful to them.
The way I work
Curiosity.
Care.
Your perspective.
A trauma-informed approach means paying attention to your pace, your experience, and the context of your life. We can be curious about a reaction without assuming that everything difficult belongs to an old wound.
I want there to be room for what you feel, what you need, and what you notice. Your perspective is part of the work throughout.
